Hotel Schmid & Alfa offers 32 rooms across two century-old buildings on Lake Lucerne's shore. Choose from Superior rooms with Vierwaldstättersee and Urner Alps views (16-20 m², balconies), Standard rooms (13-15 m²,多数 with balconies), or Economy options (10-13 m²). Four 3.5-room apartments (70 m²) feature boxspring beds and south-facing balconies. All rooms include LCD flat-screen TVs with 150 channels, free WiFi (100+ Mbps), and bathrooms with showers or bathtubs.
Haddock Restaurant Dining
The Haddock restaurant serves contemporary cuisine with regional products and fish menus. Meals and drinks are available on the sunny garden terrace with palm trees. Guests receive an abundant breakfast buffet including prosecco. The property no longer operates the previous Schmidstubli restaurant serving traditional Swiss cuisine.
Alpine Activity Access
The property provides direct access to windsurfing on Lake Lucerne and skiing/snowboarding at nearby slopes. It serves as a base for hiking with countless trails. Guests receive a free Victorinox Store engraving and discounted museum admissions. The area contains William Tell historical sites including Rütli forest glade and Tell monument in Altdorf.
Brunnen Transportation Links
Located in Brunnen village on Lake Lucerne's edge, 80 km from Zurich-Kloten Airport. Regular trains run hourly/30-minutely from Zurich, Lucerne, Arth Goldau, and Chiasso. Boats connect from Lucerne or Flüelen. By car: A4 from Germany via Basel or Zurich, A2 from Italy via Chiasso. Private parking costs CHF 10 daily. The property is 2 minutes from bus and ship stations.
Family-Run Hotel Services
Operated by the Hackl-Schmid family for four generations. Offers free cots, children under 6 stay free in existing beds. Check-in 3 PM-8 PM, check-out until 11 AM. Provides free guest card for local transportation discounts. Apartments include washing machines and tumblers. No hotel service in holiday flats. Luggage loading/unloading available directly at hotel entrance.
